How Long Does It Take to Beat Outer Wilds?

The base game of Outer Wilds takes 15-20 hours to complete if you focus only on the main story. However, for those who love deep exploration, it can take around 30 hours—I personally finished it in 31.5 hours.

The Echoes of the Eye DLC adds approximately 10-12 hours for the main missions and around 15 hours for full completion. This brings the total playtime to 25-30 hours for the main story and 40+ hours for full exploration.

However, there’s a twist. Given the nature of the game (no spoilers!), once you have completed it, you can finish the main story in just 15-20 minutes on subsequent runs. The fastest recorded speedrun was 10 minutes and 58 seconds! (These numbers apply to the base Outer Wilds game.)
