Pacemaker: Pacific Drive Anomaly Explained

The Pacemaker in Pacific Drive is a passive Anomaly that can be used to charge your car’s battery or trade items for higher-tier resources. It doesn’t attack or cause damage and has no surrounding radiation. This Anomaly is relatively rare to find and offers no audio cues or indicators. Visually, it appears as a random jumble of electrical components

The Pacemaker can practically be found in the Outer Zone, Mid Zone, and Deep Zone. It spawns in the following biomes:

  • Damp Forest
  • Blistering Woods
  • The Mires
  • The Scorch
  • Smokestacks
  • Red Spires

Charge Your Car Battery Using a Pacemaker

To charge your car’s battery, park near a Pacemaker—charging will begin automatically. Keep in mind that the Pacemaker has a limited energy reserve; once it’s depleted, it can no longer recharge your battery or handle item trades.

Item Trading with the Pacemaker

To trade with a Pacemaker, approach it on foot and interact by pressing E (on PC). You’ll see a prompt allowing you to place items or resources into the device. If the Pacemaker accepts the item, it may return a higher-tier resource or another reward.

One of the most interesting trades you can perform with a Pacemaker is trade Plasma for Tree Candy. This trade stands out because Plasma is found in the Outer Zone, while Tree Candy is a late-game resource which cannot be naturally obtained till you unlock it in the Deep Zone.

Even after unlocking the Deep Zone, obtaining Tree Candy can be time-consuming. Traveling there requires passing through at least 2-3 Junctions before you finally encounter Tree Candy.
