VALORANT was officially released by Riot Games on June 2, 2020, for PC. The game’s development began in 2014, with a closed beta that ran from April 7 to May 28, 2020. Get VALORANT on PC.

As VALORANT approached its 5th anniversary in 2025, Riot Games announced a transition from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5, set for mid-2025. As of July 2025, VALORANT has approximately 25 million monthly active users, with concurrent player counts ranging between 300,000 and 500,000.

When is VALORANT Coming to Console?

On the console side, the VALORANT open beta was announced on June 14, 2024. However, access to the console beta comes with a few conditions:

  • You must be located in one of the following supported regions: North America (NA), European Union (EU), Japan (JP), or Brazil (BR).
  • The open beta is only available on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation®5.

If you meet these conditions, go to your console’s marketplace and download the game.

There’s no official word yet on the availability of VALORANT Console in other regions. Riot Games has stated that this may change, and they will continue monitoring additional regions for potential console expansion.
